About Us
What is BDUB (bē dŭb)?
A nickname given to our founder Bobby White in the late 80’s by a production assistant on the original People’s Court, with Judge Wapner. A shortened version of his initials, BW became BDUB. The name stuck. Bobby has nearly 35 years broadcast television engineering experience at The Production Group, Tribune Studios, & HPP Sunset Studios, serving as Chief Engineer, VP and Director. He has the unique experience of working as production engineer and AV system integrator. He has worked on live and recorded productions appearing on ESPN, USA Network, Fox, Disney, MTV, VH1, Viacom, KTLA 5, Netflix, CBS, NBC, ABC, HBO, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, BET, Turner Networks, BBC, Fox News, CNN, & SciFi Channel, to name a few. Bobby and his team have also designed, managed, and built nearly 25 AV systems, ranging from partial upgrades, complete rebuilds, to new installations. Many of which are still active today. Always on-time and within budget. His systems and workflows are known for ease of use and flexibility. They are battle tested and up to your next challenge.

Our History
We’re a new company since 2020, but not new to the industry. We’ve applied our skills exclusively to the studios, but now we’re on our own. Our first system integration was in 1994. We converted an analog composite system to digital SD-SDI over a long weekend – Wednesday night to Tuesday morning. The entire process was seven weeks, but the conversion was during active production, so our window of opportunity was just over 5 days. Meticulous planning and preparation lead to our success. That daily ESPN talk show went on without a hitch. We were also doing productions in our other control rooms & stages at the same time. We haven’t looked back since.
Over the years we’ve accomplished some incredible technological feats. In 2014 we converted an SD-SDI control room to HD-SDI in 28 days during a hiatus in production. It was our third control room rebuild/renovation in two years, all while at over 100% occupancy, utilizing multiple temporary control room setups. In 2017 we built a brand new 10 camera HD AV system – production control room, audio room, record room, video control room, & tech room – in seven weeks, start to finish, including major construction. The project also included equipping 8 new dressing rooms with AV feeds from custom MATV system, which we also built. Finally, in 2019, we completely rebuilt, partially remodeled, and updated four control rooms, while running productions on three separate studio lots. These are just a few examples of what we’ve accomplished while working at the studios. Now we’re available to do the same for you.
